This safari takes you all over the pearl of Africa. You get to cover many different destinations including Bwindi impenetrable national park for mountain gorilla trekking, have a city tour in Kampala, visit Jinja town to visit the source of the Nile and also engage in white water rafting. Visit Mt Moroto as well as sipi falls. Kidepo National Park is also part of the visit as well as Murchison falls national park. This safari takes you to Kibale national park for chimpanzee trekking, Visit queen Elizabeth for wildlife viewing and a boat cruise. DAY 1

Arrival at Entebbe international Airport

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, the company representative welcomes you to Uganda and drives you to your reserved lodge in Entebbe.

DAY 2

Have a Kampala city tour

Have breakfast at the hotel and transfer Kampala city to start your city safari. You start with a visit to Gadaffi mosque, kabaka’s palace, Kabaka’s parliament as well a Kasubi tombs. After return to down town to explore Owino market and Nakasero market before having lunch. After, proceed with your tour with a visit to Uganda Museum, Bahai temple as well as Namugongo Martyr’s shrine.

After, return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight.

DAY 3

Transfer to Jinja Forest

Have breakfast at the Hotel, then after transfer Jinja having a stopover at Sezibwa falls which are situated 32km along the Kampala Jinja highway. It’s one of Uganda’s hidden cultural treasures with of the part owned by Buganda Kingdom and by the Anglican church of Uganda. It takes only 30 minutes’ drive from Kampala depending on the traffic flowing out of the city. You get to engage in a nature walk to view the falls at up close.

After, proceed with your visit to Mabira Forest and engage in zip lining, get to adventure Mabira forest canopy that sends you rising between the tallest trees in the rain forest. You go through the ancient trees by very experienced zip lining guides across a network of 5 zip lines that extend 250meters across River Musamya. High up in the canopy, you are able to enjoy the view of the forest layers, mammals like the red tailed monkeys, birds, grey cheeked mangabeys, great blue turaco and many more.

The hike back from the zip line takes you past the beautiful griffin falls and back to the camp which gives accommodation, meals, mountain biking and many more. The activity takes 4 hours to be completed.

DAY 4

White water rafting & a boat cruise on the source of the Nile

Wake up early enough and have your breakfast at your hotel or lodge, proceed with your drive to Jinja . The guide drives you to the starting point where you will be given a briefing about your safety which is be followed by a practical training before starting the raft. Get to raft for close to 15kms. Your raft is concluded with fantastic Buffet lunch as well as complementary drinks after the safari.

After Lunch, You are driven to the source of the Nile; take a boat cruise to the actual source of the Nile. The source of the Nile is a point where River Nile starts its long journey to the Mediterranean Sea. This is the largest fresh water lake in Africa. After, you can also buy some souvenirs before getting back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5

Transfer to Sipi falls & have an evening water fall walk

Have breakfast at the Hotel and after proceed to Sipi falls located in the East of Uganda 277km from Kampala Uganda’s capital in Kapchorwa district. These falls are found on the foothill of Mountain Elgon at the edge of Mount Elgon National park nearing the Kenyan border to Uganda. Its name was derived from the word Sep which is a name of a wild banana like native plant that grows along the bank of Sipi River. You have lunch enroute.

Upon your arrival at the park, you have an evening water fall walk to view the falls up close. After, proceed to the lodge for dinner and Overnight.

DAY 6

Have a community walk & a game drive in Pian Upe game reserve

Have breakfast at the lodge, proceed for a walk of a few hours around local viewpoints. In Kapchrowa, a 20 minute sun rise trek at 6 am from Noah’s Ark Hotel that continues to the nearby Tewei hill to see dawn spreading across the vast Karamoja plains at the base of the mountain. You also visit some of the local community that leaves near to the park to explore their way of life.

After return to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for a game drive to the Pian Upe game reserve in the afternoon. This reserve extends over an area of 2788 sq km to the north of mountain Elgon and it’s under the management of Mount Elgon Area and is the second largest protected area in Uganda after Murchison falls reserve. There are many wildlife species to be viewed including; leopards, cheetah, spotted Hyenas, lions, Harte beast , greater Kudu, topis, oribis, dik dik as well as roan antelopes.

After the game drive, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

DAY 7

Transfer to Moroto & have a hike to Manyattas to see the Karamajong people (154km) – 6 hour’s drive

Breakfast early in the morning and transfer Moroto to visit the Karamajong people. You have lunch enroute as you travel. Upon your arrival at Moroto, You proceed with your hike to the Manyattas to see the Karamajong people. This is a tribe of fierce warrior pastoralists that are found in the north eastern corner of Uganda bordering Kenya and Southern Sudan. These villages are located near Kidepo Valley national park; you get to meet the Karamojongs, which is a very fierce group of the semi pastoralists with rich cultural legacy. You also learn about their way of life and you are entertained by these real people.

After the hike return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

DAY 8

Hike mount Moroto & transfer to Kotido in the evening- 1h 51 min (110km)

Have breakfast at the camp and then proceed for ½ hike of Mount Moroto. The highest peak of mount Moroto is called Sokodek. This ancient volcano raises out of this semi-arid planes of Karamoja forming the highest mountain in the region. The porters will help out during the hike. You hike for half day and then descend back for a late lunch before transferring to Kotido, upon your arrival; you have a cultural visit to Nakapelimoru Traditional village, which is the largest traditional village in East Africa and its home to the Jie clan of Karamoja. You get to experience their way of life.

After, return to the lodge or hotel for an overnight.

DAY 9

Transfer to Kabong and visit the IK people

Have breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Kabong to visit the Ike people. It’s listed as one of two most marginalized tribes in Uganda, at a high risk of extinction, this is one of the many sub tribes in Karamoja and are mountain people and speak Tueso language. You get to know about their way of life and test some of their food.

This is usually a full day hike since it takes four hours to hike up and four hours to hike down. After the visit, return to the lodge in Kotido for your overnight.

DAY 10

Transfer to Kidepo National Park & have an evening game drive – 33.46 miles

Have breakfast at the hotel and then proceed with your drive to Kidepo national park. This park lies in rocky semi-arid valleys between Uganda’s borders with Kenya and Sudan. Its 700km from Kampala and was gazzetted as a national park in 1962. It has got 77 mammal species and 475 bird species. This is an isolated park but with variety of wildlife species still in intact.

Upon your arrival at the park, check in to the Lodge, have lunch as you prepare for an afternoon game drive in the park to view animals including; giraffes, lions, zebras, leopards, black and white, side stripped jackal, spotted hyena as well as lesser kudu.

After, return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight

DAY 11

Morning & afternoon game drive in the park

Wake up so early and proceed for a morning game in the park, you are to see many morning risers like the lions, leopards, cheetahs, antelopes, kobs, lesser kudu and many water birds. Return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch as you prepare for another game drive in the afternoon where you see many animals that you missed on the previous game drives.

After return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight as above

DAY 12

Transfer to Gulu and have an evening cultural tour to the Acholi people

Have breakfast at the lodge and then transfer to Gulu town and upon your arrival, check in at the lodge and have lunch as you prepare to visit the Acholi people and learn about their culture and the way of life. The Acholi are part of Luo speaking Nilotic people of East Africa who live in Northern Uganda and their area is referred to as Acholi land. These live in districts like Agago, Amuru, Gulu, Lamwo, Nwoya and Pader.

After experiencing their culture, return to the Lodge for dinner and an overnight.

DAY 13

Transfer to Murchison falls national park

Wake up early in the morning, and start your drive to Murchison falls national park. This is the largest national park in Uganda and is home to variety of wildlife species like the lions, leopards, antelopes, kobs, water bucks, warthogs, and many bird species.

Upon your arrival at the park, check in at the check at the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 14

Morning game drive & afternoon boat cruise

Wake up so early and proceed for an early morning game drive to see early morning risers and the animal species that you missed on your previous game dive. View many animals including the lions, antelopes, water bucks, leopards, kobs, and many more, after the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast and Lunch as you prepare for an afternoon boat cruise on the Nile to see many water animals including; hippos, buffaloes, Nile crocodiles as well as birds. You also hike to the top of the falls to view these great falls at up close.

After the boat cruise, get back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

DAY 15

Transfer to Hoima & visit King’s Palace

Have breakfast at the lodge and proceed to Hoima town where you visit the King ‘palace where you manage to learn about the culture of Bunyoro kingdom and its people. After your visit, return to the Lodge for a late lunch as you relax for the afternoon at the Hotel.

DAY 16

Transfer to Kibale National Park

Have breakfast at the Lodge and then start your journey to Kibale National park. This is a montane forest filled with 13 primate species including the chimpanzees. The journey is so long and so scenic filled with great vegetation. Arrive at Fort Portal and check in at the lodge.

DAY 17

Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi swamp walk

Wake up so early and have breakfast before briefing at the headquarters for the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking in Uganda. You start the trek of searching for the chimpanzees and once found, you are given 1 hour to spend with them as you take photos of these primates playing and the young ones jumping from tree to tree. After the trek, return to the lodge for Lunch as you prepare for your visit Bigodi wetland swamp to see more primate species like monkeys and birds.

DAY 18

 Transfer to queen Elizabeth National park & visit the crater lakes

Have breakfast at the lodge and then start your drive to Queen Elizabeth national park. This is one of the largest savannah national park. The park is dotted with variety of swamps as well as acacia grasslands. Upon your arrival at the park, check in and have your lunch before visiting the crater lakes. You get to adventure these beautiful lakes and view many water birds. After the visit, proceed back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 19

Morning game drive & an afternoon boat cruise

Wake up so early and proceed for a morning game drive to see the early morning risers in the park, you will explore the kasenyi part of the park and view many animal species including; lions, waterbucks, buffaloes, warthogs, Ugandan kobs, birds. Return to the lodge for your breakfast & lunch as you prepare for an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel where you will view many water species like the buffaloes, hippos, water birds, and many more.

After, return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 20

Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National Park

Have breakfast in the morning and proceed for a morning game drive in Ishasha sector with an anticipation of seeing tree climbing lions as well as many other animal species like the kobs, antelopes and many more. After proceed with your drive to the park arriving late afternoon. Check in at the lodge and then relax for the evening

DAY 21

Gorilla trekking & Community walk

Have breakfast at the lodge and then proceed for a briefing at UWA headquarters by 8:00am. Always ensure to carry along a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, the jungle boots etc. The rangers will lead you inside the forest to see these primates for a group you have booked for. Always carry lunch boxes and all the necessary gears to track the rare mountain gorillas, conceivably one of the most thrilling wildlife experiences on earth. The tracking takes between 2 to 6 hours and it’s worth the effort. After, return to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for a community walk to the nearby villages. You get to lean about their way of life.

After, return back to the lodge.

DAY 22

Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi & have a boat cruise

Have breakfast at the lodge and start your drive to Lake Bunyonyi , this is a fresh lake with no crocodiles and its free from Bilharzia.  Upon your arrival at the lodge, check in and have lunch as you prepare for a boat cruise to explore the many islands on this lake. After the boat cruise, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Bird Nest Lodge (Luxury) Arcadia cottages (Moderate) Bunyonyi overland camp (Budget)

DAY 23

Have a nature walk & Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Breakfast in the morning, then proceed for a nature walk around the villages near Lake Bunyonyi. Get to adventure the many islands found on this lake on foot. After return to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for a transfer to Lake Mburo National park, upon your arrival at the lodge, proceed for an evening game drive to see many animals including; zebras, impalas, kobs, antelopes, waterbuck and many bird species.

DAY 24

Morning game drive & afternoon boat cruise

Return to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for an afternoon boat cruise where you see many water animals including; hippos, crocodiles as well as water birds. After, return to the lodge for an overnight and dinner.

DAY 25

Transfer back to Kampala

After breakfast, proceed with your drive to Kampala having a stopover at the Equator for some photos and experiments. Have lunch enroute as you travel. After, continue with your drive to Kampala arriving late afternoon. The guide will either transfer you at the Airport for your departure flight or be dropped off at the Hotel for an overnight.
